Burundi Hosts Major Education Conference on Opportunities to Study Abroad with Final International University (FIU)
On May 2, 2025, the Representative of Final International University (FIU) in Cyprus, in collaboration with Education Center for All (EDUCEFA), organized a high-level academic conference at King’s Conference Center in Kinindo, Bujumbura. The event was held under the theme:
“The Importance of High-Quality Education Abroad.”
The primary goal of the conference was to inform and inspire the Burundian community, especially students, about scholarships offered by Final International University, and to encourage them to pursue higher education overseas. This initiative aims to empower young Burundians to gain global knowledge and skills that can contribute to the development of their families, communities, and the nation.
High-Level Participation and Support

The conference was attended by a wide range of distinguished guests, including:
- Officials from the Ministry of Higher Education in Burundi
- Rectors and heads of schools and universities
- Representatives of academic institutions and local organizations.
Their presence signified strong national interest in international academic partnerships and access to quality education for Burundian students.
Scholarship Exam Follows Across Three Provinces
On May 3, 2025, the day after the conference, entrance exams were held in three provinces across Burundi:
- Bujumbura at Stella Matutina
- Gitega at Lycée S.O.S
- Ngozi at Lycée Don Bosco
More than 600 students participated in these exams, showcasing their enthusiasm for gaining access to international education opportunities through FIU’s scholarship programs.
The conference also featured an interactive question and answer session, allowing attendees to ask in depth questions about study programs, living in Cyprus, visa processes, and scholarship details. All questions were answered thoroughly by the FIU team in collaboration with Educefa.
In a heartfelt closing message, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education expressed deep gratitude to Education Center for All, particularly Mr. Guy Merci, for his dedicated efforts in supporting Burundian students together with FIU. He emphasized that this collaboration between Burundi and Cyprus is a significant step toward building strong educational ties, as there had previously been no formal academic connection between the two countries.
This event marks a new chapter for Burundian youth seeking to expand their horizons and contribute positively to their country through quality international education.
